I have Chosen To do my essay on Thor This is because the Blockbuster was such a world wide hit for people who love comic books as well as action movies. When the Blockbuster Reached the Cinema Screen on April 21^st 2011. Marvel Studios Wanted to do a big Marketing Campaign so in July 2010 the Thor cast went down in San Diego Comic-Con. Also why at comic-con they showed a clip of the movie A few days later, this footage was leaked on the Internet. The first television advertisement was broadcast during Super Bowl XLV But that was not the only thing that surprised the Audience if you watch Iron Man 2 after the credits you would see a S.H.I.L.E.D agent discovering a large Hammer in the desert. Also Food and Drink companies got involved Like Burger King and Dr, Pepper even Visa wanted to help promote the movie.

When Marketing Thor A lot of toy company’s got involved with Making the Hammer and a lot of younger Children wanted this Hammer, People also got selected for S.H.I.L.E.D. agent kits which not only advertised Thor it was also introducing the rest of the Marvel Franchise the Avengers. Which was Clever Because they didn’t want to give the movie away so every time they made a new marvel movie the would give a little hint to was coming.

When trying to get Thor out to the audience they knew that the movie had to be good because all Marvel Studio Movies have been in high standings so this means that they had a reputation on the line but threw Marvel Studios the reputation helped them a lot with all the Promoting. When trying to distribute the film they used many different ways YouTube, Trailer in cinema and sneak peaks on interviews such shows and Alan Carr chatty man and Graham Norton. When the Film Went to cinema it gave a good impact to the crowed a lot of people was impressed with the movie so Marvel done a good job once again. It wasn’t long till people started talking about the movie and started to get around and websites like Rotten Tomato started which is a Film Review site where people blog about movies. People started reading the website and was convinced that it must be a good Movie. IMBD also a film based website also started putting in good reviews and gave it a 7.0 which is a good rating. The only problem though with film review websites its that a lot of opinionated people might be very fussy when it come to movies so people might think its bad because in his eyes it is and that could start to get out. Also this goes to teenagers a lot of the time and they start to talk about what they heard about the movie saying it’s a bad review when really it could be a good movie if they just sat down and watched it.  With the Producers of the movie when making the sequel they knew the feedback from the movie was good because there was a lot of hype for the second one, which is coming out the end of October 2013 Also because it was a big movie the company didn’t want to do a test screening of the movie because they wanted to keep it hush till the release date.

When trying to market the film to Other Audiences other thank comic book lovers they tried to make the trailers look more action packed and more of a boys movie than just some geek sci-fi movie. But also this is good because it can give more people a chance to look at what comic books in a different way that there not for people with less friends and they are good storylines with lots of great action in them. Another thing they also had to do with brining a difference audience in is brining quite a good actor Chris Hemsworth not many people heard of him that much but they got a good looking man to play the part so more women would want to see the movie. Thor has got popular because Marvel has taken off this year and because of all the top movies they are making at the moment they wanted to see another great movie be made so because of this there reputation has helped them go along way with this movie.

Now days company’s like to make websites purposely made just for the movie this give people to interact with the characters play mini games just so thy can have a little bit of fun .This also gives you all the information about the film and tells you about the characters and the trailers the do this so people can get to know the movie better and a lot of company do this such as batman dark knight and harry potter.  The Internet is one of the biggest thing for marvel as well because not only do they have the website just for the movie they also have a website for Marvel which shows everything to do with the company like up coming movies, art work, comics and a lot more.

I think Thor done really well getting the movie out and now Loki one of the most favorite characters goes to all comic conventions to spread the word for Thor even though his evil also with the second film coming out the fans are buzzing to see another one of marvels amazing quality films and I hope they will make many more films like Thor, Spider-man, X-man and many more and soon they hopefully will make a new superhero that can get to the audience such as ant man coming out soon.  Also I have learned a lot about the market side of movies and it’s a lot more important than the movie in ways because you need to get the audience on your side for the move and if that doesn’t work then you wont get a good movie.
