The Making Of No Place For A Hero

Audience research

BARB
BARB (Broadcasters’ Audience Research Board) is the organisation responsible for providing the official measurement of UK television audiences.
BARB What they do is find out what time and what show and what type of peole are watching programs at certain times of the day.the data is collected on the minute and the shows are constantly.

A range of individual and household characteristics (panel controls) are deployed to ensure that the panel is representative. The prime control is a 20 cell matrix, made up of means of TV reception, life stage (pre-family, young family, older family, post family and retired), and social grade. As estimates for the large majority of panel controls are not available from Census data it is necessary to conduct an Establishment Survey to obtain this information.

The channel i have chosen for my film is ITV2 this is because a lot of people do like to watch a lot of TV shows like celebrity juice. Which is good because of this more peoplem will talk about the trailer also with ITV2 families like to sit in after 6 so that would be the pefrect time for me to put on my film. i think the choice is right and most people would agree the only problem with putting on that time is it will be more cost effective so i would have to spend more money.

With me putting this advert will get out there and also i would like for the advert to be word and mouth where families have sat down and watch my advert luckily as well where my film doesn't have any blood in the film it okay no swearing so my film has no problem having to be on air after the watershed.

Questionnaire answers

When asking people in my class to fill out my questionnaire i gave the questionnaire to 12 people in my class to fill out.

1. Are you a Male or Female?
6 girls 6boys
2. What age group are you?
15-20 11
21-26 1
27-32 0

3. Which of these Genre's do you like best?
A. Drama 4
B Action 3
C Fantasy 1
D Thriller 4

4. Do you prefer a Male or Female lead role?

from what i gathered from my class more people like male leads because there strong and they give off that impression that a male lead you would feel more safe depending on what type of film you do. with the girl roles four girls in my class thought that a women leading role would be better so clearly they think the same sex is always better than the opposite.

5. Would you rather watch a 15 or 18?

9 people said they would rather watch a 15 then and 18 because they all think that where 15 rated films are more common but they always know where the boundary is so you can enjoy a film but with the 3 people that voted 18. This is because they like films they go past that limit.
6. Do you like gore?

half the class said yes the over said no which im surprised because a lot of people now days like bloody films i think this is because we are used to seeing this in a lot of films so we are just used to it with all the saw films about im surprised.

7. Do you get attached to characters?

The whole class said yes i think this is because the acting talent now days are so high that people cant get attached to actors a lot more with all the serious dramas and with romance films its hard to not get attached to characters.

Personal Profile:
I am looking for a job as I’m still studying at college, I’m currently in my second year in the Level 3 TV and Film Course. People would normally describe me as a confident and happy all round person. I don’t mind what type of job I get but would appreciate the opportunity to work with you. I find it easy to get on with anyone in the work place and I am easy to talk to. My life goal is to become the next Christopher Nolan as I love making movies and I would love to see my movie on the big screen one day.
Work experience:
2010- I worked at HBW Partnership which is a surveying company, It was good experience for me to see what surveying was like sadly it wasn’t  the career path which I wanted to choose. I had to be hard working for two weeks with constant measurements on buildings, so I’m used to consistent work.
20/09/11 – 08/04/14 I have worked at The Old Hat In Southend where I was a barman as well as a glass collector but I spent more time behind the bar serving customers. By working at The Old Hat I have picked up skills, working around customers, helping people, time management, cleaning and confidence in the work place.  I have never been late for work, also if they needed me at the last minute I always show my commitment and turn up for the shifts they needed cover for.

Interests and Achievements:
In my last year of school I was a prefect at The King Edmund School. My duty was to help the younger Students in the school also to help with punctuality with the students so they looked presentable.
I like to go down to the south of England so I can surf it’s one of my interests also I like to be in the sea so it perfect.
I enjoy socialising and meeting new people and I love helping people. I like to read in my spare time as I really enjoy learning about the world.
Skills:
Self-confidence, the ability to work with others, listening to superiors, independence and communicating with others.
