The Male Gaze
From reading Laura Mulvey idea on the gaze from watching the scene with Jessica Rabbit it shows in every way how right she is because the camera shows how a man would look at another women in a way of lust. Also it makes sense with her theory in another way with that women in films have to be some what good looking in movies to keep the guys attention in a scene where a girl wants all the attention. They also use this theory to a scene in the Mask with Cameron Diaz she standing in a bank with wet hair and cloths so they use the gaze on here by just making her look superioir to anyone else in the bank. But in the mask they also have a quick show of the mens faces so it just shows how they would react if women look the way they do in hollywood. The thing that i think what movies are trying to get out this is to show that they not show women as just looks but also sometimes show them how beautiful they can they make them thats my opinion.
